Essential Oils For The Holidays

As a licensed Massage Therapist, and an Essential Oil Therapist, I’m always being asked how to use essential oils. Aside from offering classes at my wellness center, and teaching in the Northeast, I find myself chatting about the oils every where I go. So here’s my two cents about using some of the highest quality, therapeutic grade oils for the holiday season. I’ll mention in this article (as I usually do) that the only essential oils to be safely used in these applications are Young Living Oils.

With the coming holiday season many emotions come into play. There’s happiness, excitement, anticipation, love, anxiety, depression, anger, loneliness and a full spectrum of others. Along with all of that, we have the added ingredient of stress! The stress of getting things together, planning meals, trips, family get togethers, decorating etc., etc., etc.

What’s a person to do! Essential oils to the rescue!

The first one on my list to calm the pressures and stresses of the season would be:

Peace & Calming™ A beautiful blend smelling of Tangerine, Patchouli, Orange, Ylang Ylang and Blue Tansy. A gentle fragrance, it promotes relaxation and a deep sense of peace, and uplifting of the spirits. Diffuse into the air or apply over the heart area wrists or neck.

Into The Future™ Helps one leave the past behind in order to go forward with vision and excitement. This is done by using Jasmine, Juniper, Fir, Orange, Cedarwood, Ylang Ylang, and Idaho Tansy, all blended for diffusing or applying over the heart, wrists or neck. Diffuse, apply over the heart, on wrists, neck.

JOY™ This blend of many oils, some of which include Rose, Bergamot, Mandarin, Lemon, and Jasmine is exotic and produces a magnetic energy to enhance the frequency of self-love and brings joy to the heart. This inspires romance and may help overcome grief and depression. NOTE: I’ve used this one along with Peace & Calming for grief…it worked for me.

Christmas Spirit™ Contains the oils of evergreens and spices, reminiscent of Christmas, bringing joy, happiness, and security. Diffuse.

Evergreen Essence™ Rich and powerful, this blend of important conifers has deep and longlasting emotional influences. Spiritually uplifting, dispelling depression and melancholy. Diffuse.

3 Wise Men™ This blend was formulated to open the subconscious mind through pineal stimulation to help release deep-seated trauma. The oils bring a sense of grounding and uplifting through emotional releasing and elevated spiritual consciousness. Diffuse or apply2 drops on the crown of the head, behind the ears, over the eyebrows, on the chest, over the thymus and at the back of the neck.

There are so many others that space would not allow my listing of. Just the names of some of these blends will give you an idea of their purpose; Harmony, Hope, Inner Child. There are single oils as well; lavender, rose, lemon, bergamot, peppermint. Any of these are wonderful oils to use all year long and especially at this time of the year.

Here’s a tip to use essential oils as you clean: 12 drops of Purification, 8 drops of Lavender, 8 drops of Peppermint. Mix with 1 qt. of water in an industrial plastic spray bottle. Shake before spraying. This mixture will take toxins out of the environment, and kill odors (usually for good). I spray it over my carpet after I vacuum, on hardwood and tile floors.

So there you have it my friends. Some new tools to help you and those you love to cheer up, calm down, freshen up, and ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS THIS YEAR!
