If
your system opens QuickTime Player and not Windows Media Player
to view your video... |
- Click "Start" then "Control Panel" from your computer's main menu
- Then choose "Folder Options" (shown below)
- In " Folder Options" scroll through the list and highlight the "WM" line for Windows Media Audio/Video file (shown below)
- Click the "NEW" button, to create a new association, then scroll through the list of programs to find the "Windows Media Player" line and click it to choose it for your future videos to use. Finally click OK (shown below) This should complete your file association.
- IF you did not have a "Windows Media Player" line to choose from in the image shown above at the left, click the "Browse..." button and you will see the next screen (shown below)
- Scroll through the list and highlight the Windows Media Player line (shown above) you will then see the following view...
- Click the wmplayer.exe line and finally click the "Open" button. This should complete your process. Close all remaining windows and try your video link again. It should open in the proper Windows Media Player viewer.
